Exhausting, Tough, Hardest Day Yet, 81.2 miles to Seminole Canyon.

I can't begin to explain how tough today was and all because of a 25/30 mph headwind. We all agree it was the most demanding day yet. Back to the beginning....I thought I was up in good time but discovered that I was last to leave apart from the Kiwi's, Alan and Alannah. The first ten miles were pretty uneventful, rolling hills, flat scrubland to the horizon then the wind got up, headwind, and it was strong. Sean caught me up and we took turns at leading. Tough,tough, head down just doing it. 30 miles, another 50 to go, 40 miles, another 40 to go. At 60 miles I stopped off and visited Langtry, called after Lillie Langtry whom Judge Roy Bean adored. The Judge's original courthouse was there and museum, he was the 'hard law' west of the Pecos River but to be honest my heart wasn't really in it. I still had 20 miles to go and it took another 3 hours of gruelling cycling. The van picked up Liza, Dan, Robert C, Sean, Alan and Alannah. Dave swept me at 5 miles out but I was determined not to give in. Rolled into camp at 6.15pm, after 9.04 hours in the saddle. Quick meal of spaghetti and tomato sauce, tent up, showered and now off to bed. 70 miles tomorrow so hope the wind has abated....am I, yes....still loving it.....
